Are silicone sheet masks clean?

Now we understand why silicone masks are such a good low waste skincare alternative but are they clean? Anyone who has suffered from acne would be dubious to put anything on their face repeatedly in fear of the effects of bacteria. Luckily, silicone is incredibly easy to clean! Simply wash with warm water and a gentle cleanser after each use, allowing it to air dry before storing. For an extra precaution, wash again before application.

How to apply a silicone sheet mask

Just like regular sheet masks, silicone sheet masks are fast and easy to use.

1. Wash your skin before application with a gentle cleanser to remove any dirt from the day.
2. Apply a few drops of your chosen Skin Republic serum to your face, patting it into the skin with your fingertips. Do not rub.
3. Secure the mask onto the face by placing loops over the ears. If the mask is too tight, cut along the lines at the top and bottom of the ear loop to loosen.
4. Wear for 15- 20 minutes. Time to relax. Go grab your favourite drink, put on those fluffy slippers, close your eyes and breathe (or run around getting ready for your big night out - the mask will stick to your face we promise!).
5. Remove the mask but do not rinse serum off of the face to gain maximum benefits.
